Job Description – Project Manager (220 kV AIS Substation)
Position Title: Project Manager – AIS Substation
Location: Gurugram, Haryana, India

Role Objective
The Project Manager will be responsible for end-to-end coordination and execution of 220 kV AIS Substation projects, ensuring effective engineering coordination, procurement alignment, site execution planning, installation, testing, and commissioning activities. The role requires strong leadership in managing cross-functional teams, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Planning & Coordination
Lead overall project execution for 220 kV AIS Substation EPC projects.
Develop detailed project execution plans, timelines, and resource allocation.
Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure seamless project progress.
Monitor project milestones and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
2. Engineering Coordination
Coordinate with the design and engineering teams for timely release of drawings, BOQs, and technical documents.
Review engineering deliverables such as SLD, layouts, equipment specifications, and technical drawings.
Ensure engineering inputs align with project schedules and site requirements.
3. Procurement Coordination
Coordinate with supply chain and procurement teams for timely sourcing of critical equipment such as:
Power Transformers
Circuit Breakers
Isolators
CT/PT
Control & Protection Panels
Switchyard equipment
Track manufacturing progress and ensure material delivery as per project schedule.
4. Site Execution & Construction Management
Manage and supervise site execution activities for AIS switchyard construction.
Coordinate civil, electrical, and mechanical teams during installation works.
Ensure compliance with technical specifications, project drawings, and safety standards.
Resolve site issues related to design, material, or execution.
5. Installation, Testing & Commissioning
Oversee installation of AIS switchyard equipment and associated systems.
Coordinate pre-commissioning and commissioning activities including protection systems and SCADA integration.
Ensure proper execution of testing procedures such as relay testing, equipment testing, and system integration tests.
Coordinate with client, consultants, and utilities during commissioning and energization.
6. Stakeholder & Client Management
Act as the primary point of contact between client, consultants, vendors, and internal teams.
Conduct project review meetings and provide progress updates to management and clients.
Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and technical specifications.
7. Quality, Safety & Compliance
Ensure strict adherence to HSE standards and project quality procedures.
Implement quality control processes during installation and commissioning.
Ensure project documentation and compliance with regulatory standards.
8. Reporting & Documentation
Prepare project progress reports, risk assessments, and cost tracking reports.
Maintain documentation related to engineering approvals, site progress, commissioning reports, and project closure.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
Certification in Project Management (PMP/Prince2) is an advantage.
Experience Requirements
10–15 years of experience in Power Transmission / EPC sector.
Minimum 10+ years handling AIS substation projects (132 kV / 220 kV / 400 kV).
Proven experience in project execution, engineering coordination, and commissioning of substations.
